Objectives of the position

Setting up and optimization of production systems to achieve quality, quantity and deadline objectives through the optimal use of materials and operating resources.  Training of production employees with respect to the production systems.

Main tasks:

  • Performance of tasks in line with the Corvaglia Closures USA and to ensure all safety policies are followed
  • Setting up, conversion, starting-up and optimization of production systems until approval by the authorized units
  • Education and training of production employees
  • Servicing work and preventive maintenance for production systems, peripheral equipment and tools including their associated documentation
  • Performance of sampling, tests and process optimizations
  • Provision of active support as part of the continuous improvement process (CIP)
  • Compliance with measures aimed at ensuring occupational safety, hygiene and accident prevention
  • Cooperation during the creation of training, maintenance and installation documents
  • On-call service in order to ensure smooth production
  • Achievement of objectives through the economical and efficient use (OEE Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of facilities and materials
  • Achievement of quality and quantity objectives
  • Compliance with work processes and documentation as well as adherence to statutory and internal regulations for production sites
  • Management of process parameter documentation and definition of tolerances
  • Reporting of instances in which processes deviate from process specifications
  • Total responsibility for Molds and Mold Maintenance
  • Suspension of production in the event of risks to people and the environment
  • Holding of non-compliant products
  • Requesting help from third parties outside normal working hours

Requirements profile

Education and training:

Plastics engineer or equivalent education and further training. Require minimum two years of operational experience

Professional experience:

Injection moulding specialist, experience in the area of shift work at a plastics-processing company.

Management experience:

  • Not required

Specialist knowledge:

MS Office knowledge (Excel, Word and Outlook) mandatory, ERP knowledge (proAlpha) advantageous

Experience with fast-running and multi-cavity moulds on injection moulding machines required; experience with Engel, Husky, and Netstal injection moulding machines desirable; knowledge of continuous motion systems and camera control systems advantageous; experience in area of process optimization required
